Очень красивая и дико маленькая деревенька площадью около 2 квадратных километров. Нашли ее совершенно случайно — в смысле, на Google.Maps заметили и решили разобраться.

Very beautiful and very small village of about 2 square kilometres. We discovered it completely by accident — I noticed a photo of it on the Google.Maps and decided to pay a visit.
Рошфор-ен-Терри напомнил Скансен — шведский заповедник-парк, где помимо животных есть как-бы старые избы, дома и мастерские с непрофессиональными актерами, которые одеты в одежду тех времён и как-бы играют роли «крестьянина», «кузнеца» и т.д., а им за это платят деньги. Рошфор — где-то из этой серии. Только местные жители не играют самих себя, они так живут.

Rochefort-en-Terre reminded me of Skansen, a Swedish national park, where not only animals and nature but old huts, houses and workshops with non-professional actors dressed in the clothes of old medieval times. Actors play roles of «peasant», «blacksmith», «saddle maker» and so on. For that they are paid money. Rochefort is somehow close to Skansen. Only the locals don’t play roles, they just live there.
Входишь и… реально средневековая сказка: брусчатка и невысокие малоэтажные дома или вообще дома из кирпича (на вид из 1400-1500 годов), идешь по улочке минуты 2-3 и попадаешь на площадь. Нет, не так. Площадь! В смысле того, что она прямо как будто вчера здесь Гендальф заседал с хоббитами.

You enter the village and… it is just like a medieval fairy tale: a cobblestone and small fackverk and brick houses (like they were in 1400-1500 years). All look nice and tidy. You are walking down the street for 2-3 minutes and get to the square. No, the main square! I mean, it’s just like as if Gandalf with hobbits have been here yesterday.
Но после площади деревня, увы, заканчивается. В общем, если вы едите в Рошфор-ен-Терри, четко понимая, что это будет некий «маленький аттракцион», то вперед, разочарований не будет, но это не полноценная деревня, а скорее одна большая улица.

But after the main square, the village ends. So if you go to Rochefort-en-Terry, clearly aware that it will be like a «small show», then go ahead, there will be no disappointment, just keep in mind that this is not a full-scale village, but rather one big street.
