My friend Lena Kochova—a language coach, psychologist, polyglot (6 languages), and former IT analyst — asked her followers in TG-channel to choose the best cover for her book on how to learn a language for those who have started many times but never succeeded.
I chose the best cover and improved it. Below are my thoughts on typography.
Here is what Lena wrote:
It looks BOMBASTIC! WOW! I actually wanted a dark version, but we could not come up with one that worked. This looks great! I wanted to say a huge thank you for what you wrote and suggested as help.
We reworked the cover with the current designer into black tones – but it did not get approved. However, we removed the extra hand-written elements from the title – and that reduced the Soviet vibe significantly. THANK YOU so much! Your edits show an amazing level of professionalism – where you seem to change nothing, but in fact, the vibe transforms dramatically!
This is sooo cool, and it was very much needed and right on time!
Here is what we ended up with in the end. Today I am already posting the news about the pre-orders.
