Unless you have a total mess behind you — it is okay to reveal your background in zoom in external communications (e.g. with clients). In such cases revealing always adds warmth: it personalizes you and works as an element of self-presentation when communicating with a customer. Moreover it does not affect perceived competence by the clients. But there is a drawback — when you reveal your background while talking to your colleagues it will decrease your perceived competence.
